Andisiwe started playing football at the tender age of 7 on the streets of Khayelitsha site c, playing against boys but when she started playing football her family was against her playing ,but only her grandmother supported her, because she saw the passion she had and at the age of 9,she joined her first team called Red Eagles from Khayelitsha and at the time they were playing in the Super League.She started playing against girls at the age of 13 and shortly after that ,she was selected for Western Cape u15 team which was then coached by the current Banyana Banyana Desiree Ellis.She was then selected for the u17 team that went to play in Botswana and that’s where she met players like Nothando Vilakazi and Memory Makhanya in the Team.When she went for trials ,for the u17 National team coached by Anna Monate(currently UJ Coach),she didn’t make it but she advised her by saying”if you keep working hard you will make it to Banyana Banyana and those words pushed her to push herself to be the Best.Andisiwe then joined Cape Town Roses at the age of 17 under the guidance of Xolile Madikane (still coaching Cape Town Roses)and,she can say that is when all her doors were opened,even though she always dreamt big,she never thought she would play For Banyana-Banyana even in her wildest dreams.Her biggest dream was to see herself playing abroad but as you know the saying”Aim for the stars,so when you come back down,you can land on the moon,”Well her moon was get selected for Banyana Banyana.In 2010,she got to play for Banyana Banyana and gain international experience at the Cyprus Cup and that was the beginning of many memories in the senior women s’ team, because the following year she got to represent the country at the all Africa Games then another epic moment happened in her life when she was selected to represent her country at the 2012 Olympics, little did she know that she was about to realise her dream of playing abroad soon after.
